Questions, Answered.

No runaround. Here's what patients actually ask before their first visit — answered the way we'd answer them in the office.

First Visit

No referral needed. Kansas is a direct-access state — you can schedule directly without going through your primary care physician first. Just book online or call the office.
Your first visit is a 60-minute structural evaluation. We start with a thorough history, then move into orthopedic and neurological testing to identify what's actually causing your problem — not just where it hurts. If imaging is needed, we refer immediately. Then we discuss findings and, in most cases, begin treatment that same day. See the full process →
In 95% of cases, yes. Unless we identify a red flag requiring imaging first — like a fracture or severe pathology — we don't make you wait. Relief shouldn't be held hostage to a second appointment.
Bring any relevant imaging you have (X-rays, MRI reports), your insurance card, and a list of current medications if applicable. Athletic wear is ideal but not required — regular clothes work fine. We just need to be able to assess range of motion. Your intake forms are completed digitally before you arrive, so there's no clipboard waiting for you.
Follow-up visits are typically 20–30 minutes. We run on time. If you need to be somewhere after, we respect that.

Insurance & Cost

We are in-network with most major insurance providers including Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and many others. We verify your benefits before your first visit so you know your out-of-pocket costs upfront — no surprises at checkout. The best way to confirm your specific plan is to text us at (913) 488-3233 and we'll check it for you.
We offer transparent cash rates for patients who are uninsured, out-of-network, or haven't met their deductible yet. These rates are often less expensive than a standard copay and are disclosed before your first visit. No hidden fees.
Yes. We work with personal injury cases and accept treatment on lien for qualifying patients — meaning you pay nothing until your case settles. We document injuries thoroughly using Colossus-optimized records to support your claim and coordinate with your attorney when applicable. Learn more about auto injury care →
No. We don't require you to purchase care packages or sign financial contracts before you start. We'll give you a clear care recommendation and let you decide how you want to proceed. You're in control of your plan.

Care & Treatment

Most adjustments are comfortable and many patients feel immediate relief. Some muscle soreness the day after your first few visits is normal — similar to starting a new workout routine. We always work within your comfort level and communicate throughout. For patients who prefer a gentler approach, we have instrument-assisted options that don't involve manual manipulation.
It depends on what we find and what your goal is. Relief care patients typically see meaningful improvement in 6–12 visits. Correction phase patients follow a structured 90-day plan to address the underlying mechanical issue. We give you a specific recommendation — with a visit count and timeline — at your Report of Findings. Not a vague open-ended commitment.
No. We graduate patients — that's the goal. Every care plan has a defined endpoint. Some patients choose to continue with periodic maintenance visits on their own terms, but that's their decision, not a requirement. The goal is a patient who doesn't need us anymore.
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions: neck pain, back pain, headaches, migraines, sciatica, disc herniations, sports injuries, shoulder and extremity problems, and more. We also offer functional medicine for patients dealing with root-cause health issues like chronic inflammation, fatigue, and hormonal imbalance. See all conditions →
Yes. We see patients of all ages. Pediatric adjustments use significantly lighter force than adult care and are adapted to the child's size and comfort. Many families have multiple members under care at the same time. Learn more about family care →
We hear this often — and it's worth exploring why. Not all chiropractic care is the same. If previous care focused only on symptom relief without identifying the structural cause, improvement tends to be temporary. Our approach starts with a thorough evaluation to find what's actually driving the problem. We also use soft tissue therapy, functional movement work, and when appropriate, functional medicine — not just adjustments.
Yes — in fact, that's often when chiropractic care is most valuable. We're experienced with acute presentations and will adjust our technique accordingly. If your situation requires imaging or emergency referral first, we'll tell you that clearly and help coordinate next steps.

In most cases, yes. New patient slots are available throughout the week. You can check availability and book directly online, or text us at (913) 488-3233 — texting is the fastest way to get a response since Dr. Nave is a one-man shop and isn't always available to take calls between patients.
A few things: we start with a structured evaluation that goes beyond symptom relief to find the mechanical source of your problem. We use a multi-modal approach — chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue work, functional rehab, and functional medicine when indicated. We give you a clear care plan with a defined endpoint, not an open-ended maintenance schedule. And we've built over 100 five-star reviews in Overland Park since 2014 by focusing on measurable outcomes, not just temporary relief.
Yes. We use the ChiroTouch patient portal for intake forms, appointment management, and records. You can access it through the QLC app page or directly at the link provided at booking.
